The village of Niantic and surrounding
area is nestled in the heart of Mystic Country, and
is considered by many to be the crown jewel of the Connecticut
coastline. Located just 20 minutes south of Mystic, Niantic boasts
being the only town in Connecticut that features its Main Street
along the Connecticut shoreline.
The Inn at Harbor Hill Marina, located in Niantic's marina district,
is a short walk to Downtown Main Street. There you will find a
variety of shops, boutiques, and cinema. Visit the local
shops offering items such as linens, gifts, pottery, jewelry, and
clothing to name a few. Browse our antique shops for that "one of a
kind" item. Unique to Niantic is the famous
Book Barn, chock full of "gently used" and "hard to find" books.
Our quaint Christmas shop, the Silver Skate, is open most of
the year and offers personalization for that special gift. The
Niantic Cinemas, often visited by Katherine Hepburn, offer first
rate movies at bargain prices. Experience casual dining at
Constantines, a favorite with the locals and conveniently
located in the center of town.
Newly built and within walking distance is the Niantic Bay
Boardwalk, a mile-long boardwalk overlooking Niantic Bay
and Long Island Sound. There, guests can take a romantic stroll on
the Boardwalk, catch a breathtaking sunset, watch fishing boats
return to port, enjoy sailboat races, or simply ponder the beauty of
the sea.
Within a five minute drive of the Inn, guests can visit one of our
local beaches, charter a fishing boat or take a lighthouse cruise or
simply enjoy a picnic at one of our local parks.
In winter and summer, two main events take place in Niantic. During
July, Niantic holds its annual Arts and Craft Fair and Lobsterfest
in the center of town . Each December, on the second Sunday, local
businesses parade their illuminated themed floats down Main Street,
attracting thousands of people from all over to the festive
Niantic Light Parade, a local town wide event. "Innstyle",
from The Inn at Harbor Hill Marina joins the more than 50 floats for
an evening of fun and entertainment!
